Ok…so now that I’ve updated everyone on me, time to talk about more important things.

Allow me to rant for a second.

If I’m not mistaken, undefeated is undefeated. My Carolina Panthers have a record of 12-0, yet week after week, people find ways to discount them.

Every week on ESPN’s First Take, I have to listen to Skip Bayless find another reason to compare us to the Arizona Cardinals. And no offense to Cardinals fans, because they are a good team. This has less to do with you and more to do with Carolina.

It is said that Arizona is the “more complete” team. But how?

When I think of a complete team, I think of a good offense, defense and good coaching.

Lets look at the offense: QB-Cam Newton. He gets it done on the ground and in the air. According to ESPN.com, Newton has 476 rushing yards with seven touchdowns to add. Not only that, but he mixes in 2,797 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. Plus he makes the lives of so many kids happy by handing them game balls.

And even THAT gets disrespected:

I mean seriously. When It’s to the point where you’re keeping the ball from a little kid? You have some deep-seeded “hatred.”

Plus, if I’m not mistaken, players get fined $5,512 (thanks for the stats Wes) per ball that they give away. So if Newton scores five touchdowns a game, times 16 games in the regular season, that’s about $341,000. That ref should be fined.

In the off season, Panthers’ fans were devastated to learn that our star receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, would be out with a season-ending injury. And boy did the media have a field day with that.

All the sudden, the season is over. The only offense the team has is Newton, tight-end, Greg Olsen, and running back Jonathan Stewart.

Well according to  pro football-reference, Newton has thrown to 10 different targets totaling 218 receptions between them, equaling that almost 3,000 yards and 25 tds I mentioned earlier.

Then there’s the rush attack.

We already know what Mr. Newton can do, so throw in some Jonathan Stewart (J-Stew to us) with his 914 yards and five touchdowns (not to mention one of those receiving touchdowns was his), and Mike Tolbert aka the Toldozer, for that extra push.

Now for my favorite part, the defense.

The defense has always been what I, and most, like to call “stingy.” They don’t like to give up…well, anything.

They share 19 interceptions with Kurt Coleman leading the way. He has six, not to mention he has a touchdown.

Right behind him is high-strung Josh Norman with four of his own and two tubbies.

35…The number of sacks the d has. That beast Kawaan Short takes top spot with seven, while one of the backbones of the defense, Thomas Davis, comes in a close second with five of his own.

Pretty solid defense, I’d say.

And last, but most certainly not least in my book, is coach Ron Rivera.

Coaching for only his fifth year mobs were ready to have his head after just his second season.

But he endured.

And I believe that his endurance, plus his coaching style, has gained him the respect of the entire team.

The team that he has worked so hard to build over the years, finally gelled together and has created something special and no one wants to accept it.

But that’s OK. Let that be their motivation.

Let people continue to say that the schedule wasn’t as tough (like they picked it).

The Panthers’ motto is “one game at a time,” and hopefully it will continue to work for them.

I don’t know why the nation wants to hate on my boys, but #keeppounding gentlemen and hopefully it’ll end with a parade in downtown Charlotte.

Then, and only then, will they get respect.
