ESPN.com has reported that Duke guard, Grayson Allen, will not be suspended for tripping a Florida State player at the end of their 80-65 victory.

According to the article, the ACC sent a reprimand to the sophomore, just two weeks after he was called for a flagrant one foul for tripping a Louisville player:

Coach Krzyzewski called the team apologizing for his player’s actions.

So what is this “reprimand” anyway? Some piece of paper that symbolizes a shaking finger or a stern talking-too? A slap on the wrist?

Of course.

Shouldn’t a player be receiving a suspension for these actions?

It’s one thing to, as Allen put it, get tangled up on a play (his explanation for Xavier Rathan-Mayes falling), but it’s another to blatantly trip a player, twice, and have no repercussions other than a piece of paper and an apology.

He obviously had no remorse for his actions the first time. That would have been the appropriate time for a “reprimand.”

It was such a pointless act with literally seconds left in the game and he wasn’t even called for the foul.

The NCAA needs to be more fair about their punishments. There is no reason why Allen shouldn’t be sitting on the bench for a couple games.

Seems like he’s taken a page from the book of his predecessors on how to become one of the school’s most hated players.

His and Hers’ Michael Smith said something so brilliant on today’s episode and I’d like to end with his words to Grayson Allen: STOP BEIN SO DAMN DUKE! That is all.

Until next time…
